APPLICATION INFORMATION

This page has been created to provide information to support your application process and understanding of the CHC53315 Diploma of Mental Health course.

Due to the high demand for places, we suggest completing the enrolment application process as soon as possible. We will contact you after completing the application to discuss any questions or concerns you have (you can contact us here at any time to discuss immediate concerns or questions). 

As with all government-accredited courses, entry-level requirements regarding literacy and numeracy skills exist when enrolling.

If you have a certified;

  • Year 12 certificate of education
    OR
  • Certificate III or higher qualification (e.g. certificate IV, bachelor’s degree, etc.)

Then provide us a copy of them, and you will have met your literacy and numeracy skills entry requirements.

If you don’t have such qualifications, let us know, and we will arrange for you to take an entry assessment to qualify.

Please note this course has a minimum age requirement of 18.

The CHC53315 Diploma of Mental Health course has been subsidised by the Western Australian Government to allow a large reduction in concession and non-concession fees.

The government-subsidised training fee for Jobs & Skills trainees enrolled in the CHC53315 Diploma of Mental Health qualification is;

Concession Fee – $400
Non-concession Fee – $1200

To be eligible for this Government subsidy, you must reside in Western Australia and be an Australian Citizen or hold an eligible visa. This training fee may be adjusted (reduced) following the submission, processing and outcome of any Cross Credit or RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) application you submit.

Weekly classes are delivered live online. Classes are scheduled four times a week, including Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

There are approximately six on-campus ‘face to face’ sessions, comprising of field trips and practical assessments. These on-campus training sessions are scheduled at LiFE Academy’s Central Campus (Wangara WA) or Bush Campus (Wanneroo WA). Dates to be confirmed.

Whilst it is important for students to attend 80% or more of their classes ‘face to face’ (live online or on campus) at times scheduled, the classes can be accessed on your phone so you can listen in at the park, in the comfort of home or wherever you like! The online training sessions are also recorded, making it easy to catch up on any missed classes.

In addition to the timetabled training sessions, there are 160 hours of ‘face-to-face’ work placement for the Diploma qualification.

This course commences on Tuesday, 27th February 2024.

Part 1 – 27th February to 23rd June
Part 2 – 20th July to 15th September
Part 3 – 5th October to 22nd December

Saturday Training Sessions – 9.30am to 5.30pm (mostly live online)
Sunday Training Sessions – 9.30am to 5.30pm (mostly live online)
Tuesday Training Sessions – 5.30pm to 9.00pm (mostly live online)
Thursday Training Sessions – 5.30pm to 9.00pm (mostly live online)

  • Easter Saturday – 30th March – No Training Scheduled
  • Easter Sunday – 31st March – No Training Scheduled
  • Mothers Day – Sunday 12th May – Recorded class (view anytime)
  • Fathers Day – Sunday 1st of September – Recorded class (view anytime)

  3. After completing the application form, you will be emailed the following forms to finalise your application.
    • Learning Needs Questionnaire
    • Concession Evidence (if applicable)
    • Comprehension & Training Tasks
    • Proof of Language, Literacy & Numeracy  (Year 12 or equivalent)
    • Recognition of units already completed (if applicable)
    • View the Student Handbook

After completing the application form, we will arrange a phone appointment (if you have not already had one). Completing the points in step three allows us to process the complete application and secure your spot if successful.
